Sleek Sapphire and Diamond Necklace

The finished sapphire and diamond necklace looks so simple and elegant, which was a complete contrast to the custom design process.  When a client approaches you with a broad concept for her where do you begin?

For her custom design creation she stated she wanted a sapphire necklace with a concept of modern classic. Thats where we turned to our history books, trawled the internet for jewels gone by.  Through it all a consistent design aesthetic sprung out, the cluster style.  In a simple cluster design the shape is dictated by the central stone.  Our next task was to show the client a delectable assortment of rich sapphires varying in cut.  She opted for a stunning  deep blue translucent sapphire that just draws you in.  We surrounded the rich sapphire with some bright white glitzy diamonds with taper at the top leading into the long, sensual white gold bail and small cushion cut diamond.  Hey presto, this was the end result for her custom design.
